WELCOME TO PET EMERGENCY HOSPITAL WEBSITE

COVID 19

We would ask that any client that needs to attend The Pet Emergency Hospital please calls in advance to ensure we are prepared for your arrival.

We would ask that anybody suffering with symptoms of Covid 19 does not attend The Pet Emergency Hospital. We will allow somebody from another household (who has not been a close contact or showing symptoms) to attend with your animal on your behalf.

We ask that all clients please wear a face mask while being attended to by our staff.

We are currently not allowing clients into the building of UCD.

In extreme cases we may allow clients enter the building but there are very few exceptions. Please ensure to wear a mask and in these cases we ask that clients wash their hands on arrival and make use of the hand sanitiser available. We will also have gloves provided for clients use.

Please keep a distance of 2 meters from other clients if you are outside of your car and we ask that only 1 person attends with each animal.

Please see HSE guidelines: https://www2.hse.ie/conditions/coronavirus/coronavirus.html

On behalf of all the staff at the PEH we thank you for your cooperation in this time.

Stay Safe.

About us

The Pet Emergency Hospital is a dedicated veterinary emergency service, operating out of UCD Veterinary Hospital, Belfield, Dublin 4. We provide out of hours care to the clients of over fifty member practices in Dublin and the surrounding areas.

Established in 2003, we have a wealth of experience in providing emergency treatment and care to ill and injured pets.

We are here all year round-nights, weekends and bank holidays, when your pet needs us.

We will carry out any treatments or investigations needed and will refer you back to your registered practice the next working day. Clinical histories, xrays and test results are emailed to your vet so that treatment can continue seamlessly.

If your pet is unstable or unfit to travel when discharged, arrangements may be made for transfer to the UCD vet hospital intensive care unit.

Opening hours:

Weeknights 7pm until 8am

Weekends and Bank Holidays 24hrs

At The Pet Emergency Hospital We aim to keep waiting times to a minimum. However please be aware that in times when we are dealing with a lot of emergency cases the waiting time may be increased (1-2 hours). We have to see cases in the The Pet Emergency Hospital in order of emergency status. Your pet will be triaged on arrival and will be seen as soon as possible. Please be aware that if your pet is not a critical case other cases may be seen before your pet.  We do endeavour to see your pet as soon as possible and our staff will aim to keep you updated on waiting times on arrival
